RVNL wins bid for electric traction upgrade in Southern Railway's Salem division
State-run Rail Vikas Nigam Limited has announced on 11 April that it has emerged as the Lowest Bidder (L1) from Southern Railway in the Normal course of business of the Company.

The Project includes Upgradation work of electric traction system from 1x25 kv to 2x25 kv traction system for Salem Jn. (SA)-Podanur Jn. (PTJ) & Irugur (IGU)-Coimbatore Jn. (CBE)- Podanur Jn. (PTJ) section of Salem division of Southern Railway to meet 3000 MT loading target.
The cost of the project is Rs 143.37 crore and the duration of the project is 24 months.
Shares of RVNL are trading higher by 1.81% at Rs 343.75. The stock has been corrected by 3.98% in the past one month but falls over 19.70% YTD.
