Western Railway’s Mumbai Central Division achieved highest-ever earnings of ?4,485 crore in FY 2024-25, marking a record in passenger, freight, and digital ticketing revenue.

Commercial earnings cross Rs 4,400 crore milestone for the first time
Western Railway’s Mumbai Central Division has achieved a historic milestone in the financial year 2024-25 by recording its highest-ever commercial revenue, surpassing the Rs 4,400 crore mark. The division generated approximately Rs 4,485 crore, setting new records across multiple revenue streams.
General Manager of Western Railway, Shri Ashok Kumar Misra, extended his congratulations to the entire team for reaching this significant benchmark.
As per a press release issued by Shri Vineet Abhishek, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the division demonstrated exceptional commercial performance, reflecting strong operational efficiency, impressive digital transformation, and strategic growth across segments.

Key achievements include:

Passenger Revenue (Suburban + Non-Suburban): Over Rs 3,782 crore – the highest ever

AC Local Services: 4.65 crore commuters traveled, contributing approx. Rs 215 crore

Freight Revenue: Record earnings of about Rs 256 crore

Pay & Park Contracts: All-time high of Rs14 crore

Catering Services: Surpassed Rs16 crore
The division also saw record collections in other areas such as PRS (Passenger Reservation System), parking, and commercial contracts.
Shri Vineet highlighted that improved digital ticketing, PRS modernization, and crowd management strategies have enhanced the passenger experience. Furthermore, new infrastructure developments, freight service innovations, and station upgrades have helped reinforce Mumbai Central Division’s leadership in railway operations.
This remarkable performance reflects the dedicated efforts of the Western Railway team in delivering efficient and revenue-driven services.
