Railway PSU alert: In a major boost, IRCON has made notable advancements on the ambitious Sivok- Rangpo Rail Project, a key initiative aimed at enhancing connectivity between West Bengal and Sikkim. The project has reached an important milestone with the successful launching of the 2x69m Open Web girders for Bridge No. 6.
The girders, weighing a total of 810 metric tons (excluding the Launching Nose weight) at 40 m height, were launched using the innovative Launching Nose method.
To date, 7 out of the 13 bridges have been completed and work is going on the balance of 6 bridges. This progress underscores IRCON's commitment to complete the project efficiently and effectively, promising to bring improved rail connectivity and economic benefits to the region.
