Sanjeev Kumar Kassi nominated as Part-Time Official Director at NLC India Board

Ministry of Coal under Government of India has nominated Shri Sanjeev Kumar Kassi as the Part-time Official Director of the Company in place of Smt. Vismita Tej, Government Nominee Director with effect from 03.04.2025, as per the regulatory filing made.

Shri Sanjeev Kumar Kassi has been nominated as Part-Time Official Director of NLC India Ltd. The appointing authority has approved the nomination.

Ministry of Coal under Government of India has nominated Shri Sanjeev Kumar Kassi as the Part-time Official Director of the Company in place of Smt. Vismita Tej, Government Nominee Director with effect from 03.04.2025, as per the regulatory filing made.

Shri Sanjeev Kumar Kassi is a 1992 batch Mechanical Engineering Graduate from NIT Allahabad (previously known as Moti Lal Nehru Regional Engineering College). Presently, he is a Joint Secretary at Ministry of Coal. He started his career in 1992 with Bharat Electronics Limited and has also worked with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited in the field of production, planning, and locomotive design.

He joined Central Electricity Authority (CEA) in 1996 through Combined Engineering Services (1994 batch) as a Central Power Engineering Service (CPES) Group A Officer and has worked at various levels in CEA. During his tenure in CEA, he has worked in NTPC for 3 years in the field of O&M of power plant.

He has formulated policies for adoption of new power generation technologies (such as supercritical coal fired units, advanced class CCGT modules, higher size coal fired units, etc.) for improving the Indian power sector w.r.t the current operating efficiencies, cost effectiveness and Green House Gas emissions.

He has been associated with review of Technical Standards for Construction of Electric Power Stations, Design Standard for Balance of Plant Equipment, Safety Standards and revival of stranded gas and coal based power stations.

His experience includes framing policy for Power Generation, Fuel Supply, Energy Conservation and sorting out technical problems of the power utilities at national level. He has attended various power sector programs in Germany, Japan, USA, China & Russia and has carried out many technical investigations in Indian Power Stations.
