REC Foundation Sanctions ₹3.60 Crore for New Primary School Building in Karnataka's Udupi District
Udupi, May 2026: REC Foundation, the CSR arm of REC Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Karnataka Public School Hiriadka for the construction of a new primary school building in Karnataka's Udupi district.
Under the agreement, REC Foundation will provide financial assistance of ₹3.60 crore for the project, which aims to enhance educational infrastructure and create a more conducive learning environment for students in the region.
MoA Signed in Presence of Local Leaders and Officials
The agreement was executed on May 29, 2026, in the presence of Gurme Suresh Shetty, Principal Shri Manjunath Bhatt of Karnataka Public School, and Shri Somyakant, Senior Chief Project Manager, REC Limited's Bengaluru Regional Office. Officials from both REC Limited and the school administration also attended the ceremony.

The proposed primary school building is expected to significantly improve access to quality educational infrastructure for children in Hiriadka and surrounding areas.
