NTPC Bongaigaon organized online communication Workshop

Bongaigaon: NTPC Bongaigaon today organized an online communication Workshop for senior executives from various domains within the station. Leading speakers from varied domains were invited to speak in the session.
Ms. Mitali Sarkar, Director (Communications), bp (formerly known as British Petroleum), India, Shri Mrinal Talukdar, Prime Time Anchor, (Pratidin Time), Author, Senior Journalist, Author and Film-maker, Shri Sachin Gogoi, Editorial Lead, BBC News, Ms. Richa Jain Kalra, Founder, Mind Latte Comms, Public Speaker, and Shri Ankuran Dutta, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Communication and Journalism, Gauhati University were invited as speakers during the programme.
The workshop was inaugurated by Shri Anil Kumar Pandey, Regional Executive Director (Eastern Region –II and Western Region –I) in the presence of Shri Subrata Mandal, CGM, NTPC Bongaigaon. Shri Pandey highlighted the importance of communications and changing media landscape and how all employees must be informed about the changing business scenario of the company and formulate the communication strategy accordingly.
Ms. Mitali spoke on how leadership should align with social media for communicating to stakeholders in an effective and customized manner. Shri Talukdar spoke on the importance of crisis communications and how corporates need to have a crisis communication plan in place for any unknown eventuality. Ms. Richa spoke on the purpose and narrative of communication and how organizations need to have uniform messaging across channels. Shri Ankuran Dutta spoke on the importance of community media and traditional media and how they need to be imbibed by organizations continuously. Shri Sachin Gogoi spoke on the media expectations and how companies need to look into the larger perspective while disseminating the news through the media. All the speakers gave case studies of various companies and how NTPC as an organization can further enhance its brand proposition among the stakeholders with the changing times.
The entire workshop was conducted in the form of a panel discussion moderated by Ms. Richa Jain Kalra, Mind Latte Comms in coordination with the Corporate Communications arm of NTPC Bongaigaon through Microsoft Teams as a precautionary measure towards COVID 19.
Earlier Shri A.K. Chawla, AGM (HR) who welcomed the guests and spoke on the importance of communication for organizations and businesses to reach out to their stakeholders. Shri T Ravinder, GM (O&M), Shri Umesh Singh, GM(FM), Shri Ramakant Panda GM (Maintenance), Shri D.P. Patra, GM (Operations), and more than 70 participants from NTPC Bongaigaon, Region Offices, and Corporate Centre benefited from the program.
