In a vibrant celebration of International Women’s Day, NTPC Bongaigaon reaffirmed its commitment to inclusivity and women empowerment, aligning with the 2025 theme, “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment”.

Shri Arnab Maitra graced the occasion and felicitated the women employees with wellness kits as a gesture of appreciation for their invaluable contributions to the organization. Addressing the gathering, he highlighted the significant role of women in shaping the future of the organization and emphasized the importance of creating an enabling environment where every woman can thrive. Shri Maitra encouraged the women employees to continue their journey of excellence and assured them of NTPC's support in all their endeavors.

The event was also attended by Shri Paresh Mathur, AGM (TS), and Shri Onkar Nath, AGM (HR), who spoke about the vital roles women play within the organization and the broader community. They appreciated the dedication and professionalism of women employees and reiterated NTPC’s commitment to promoting gender equality and empowerment.

A special cake-cutting ceremony was organized, symbolizing unity and celebration. Women employees shared their experiences, reflecting on how NTPC's initiatives have positively impacted their lives. They spoke about the opportunities provided by NTPC Bongaigaon, which have enabled them to flourish both professionally and personally.

Earlier during the day, the celebrations began with a focus on fitness and well-being. A spirited walkathon was organized, symbolizing the strides women are making in various spheres of life and their journey towards empowerment. Women employees participated enthusiastically, showcasing their determination and unity. Following the walkathon, a high-energy Zumba session was conducted by a reputed coach from Kokrajhar. The session infused a lively spirit into the event, promoting health and vitality among women employees. The combination of fitness activities not only emphasized the importance of well-being but also highlighted NTPC Bongaigaon's commitment to fostering a healthy and inclusive work environment.

The Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, led by Smt. Kasturi Maitra, President, Smt. Soumya Kar, Vice President and Smt. Jhumita Biswas, Senior Member, Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club also joined the celebrations by presenting wellness kits to the members. A cake-cutting ceremony with the Ladies Club members was held, adding warmth and joy to the occasion. Smt. Kasturi Maitra, in her address, spoke passionately about the importance of women's well-being and empowerment, encouraging everyone to support initiatives that uplift women and girls. The Ladies Club also presented wellness kits to the women employees, reinforcing the message of care and support.
