NHPC Ltd seeks to build 1,200 MW Solar Park in UP, costing Rs 796.9 crore
The estimated cost of Rs 796.96 crore includes Rs 42.7 crore in interest paid during construction and Rs 239.1 crore in equity invested by NHPC in BSUL for the solar park's development.

According to a company exchange filing, state-owned NHPC Ltd plans to build a 1,200 MW solar park in Uttar Pradesh at an estimated cost of Rs 796.9 crore. Bundelkhand Saur Urja Ltd., an NHPC subsidiary and a joint venture with the Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Department Agency, will construct the solar park in the Jalaun district.
This will be constructed under the "Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Parks" mode 8 of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy's plan for the construction of solar parks and ultra mega solar power projects.

The estimated cost of Rs 796.96 crore includes Rs 42.7 crore in interest paid during construction and Rs 239.1 crore in equity invested by NHPC in BSUL for the solar park's development. This comes after the business developed a "borrowing plan" in March 2025 to raise money for the current fiscal year.
A borrowing plan to raise up to Rs 6,300 crore in debt for the fiscal year 2025–2026 was approved by the company's board of directors on 19 March.
