HPCL Engages Nearly 1,000 Students Nationwide Through Online Masterclass on Modern Refinery Engineering
New Delhi / Mumbai: State-run oil marketing major Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) successfully conducted an online masterclass on “The Marvel of Modern Refinery Engineering: From Crude to Consumer”, witnessing enthusiastic participation from nearly 1,000 students across the country.
The masterclass saw representation from IITs, NITs, IIMs, Institutes of National Importance, and several other premier academic institutions, reflecting strong interest among students in India’s evolving energy and refining sector.
Insightful Session Led by HPCL Director (Refineries)
The session was led by Mr. S. Bharathan, Director – Refineries, HPCL, who delivered an engaging and insightful overview of modern refinery engineering. He explained how advanced molecular science, large-scale engineering, digital technologies, and sustainability practices converge to convert crude oil into high-value products that fuel the nation’s economy.
The interactive session offered students a deeper understanding of the complexities and innovations involved in refinery operations, highlighting HPCL’s technological capabilities and future-oriented approach.
