New Delhi/Bhopal: State-owned miner Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) has emerged as the Preferred Bidder for the Baghwari-Khirkhori Copper and Associated Mineral Block in Madhya Pradesh, following the successful conclusion of a government-led e-auction.

The forward e-auction for the composite licence was successfully concluded on January 22, 2026, and Hindustan Copper submitted the highest final price offer, leading to its declaration as the preferred bidder for the block.

The development marks a significant step in HCL’s efforts to expand its mineral resource base and strengthen its long-term copper production pipeline. The Baghwari-Khirkhori block is expected to support domestic copper availability, aligning with India’s broader objectives of resource security and self-reliance in critical minerals.

The disclosure has been made in compliance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

Hindustan Copper Limited is a Government of India enterprise and the country’s only vertically integrated copper producer, with operations spanning mining, beneficiation, smelting, refining, and continuous cast rod production.
