Eastern Coalfields Limited offers 100 new appointments

Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) reaffirmed its commitment to employee welfare by offering 100 new appointments during a special ceremony held at the Dishergarh Club, ECL headquarters. The event was presided over by Shri Satish Jha, Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD), ECL.

Out of the 100 appointments, 60 relate to the Dependent Employment Scheme under NCWA, while the remaining were provided under the Land Loser Scheme. Addressing the newly appointed individuals, Shri Jha extended a warm welcome and emphasized the company’s dedication to support the families of deceased employees and land losers. He encouraged them to contribute meaningfully to ECL as well as support their families and wished them success in their new roles.

The event was also graced by Director (Finance) Md. Anzar Alam, Director (Technical) Shri Niladri Roy and Director (Personnel) Shri Gunjan Kumar Sinha, who motivated the appointees to carry out their responsibilities with dedication and integrity. CMD Shri Jha also congratulated Employment & Recruitment Department, ECL for successfully organizing the event, which reflects ECL’s unwavering commitment to its workforce.

Providing dependent employment under the National Coal Wage Agreement (NCWA) has been a longstanding tradition at Coal India Limited (CIL) and ECL. This initiative aims to support the families of deceased employees, easing their hardships while reinforcing the company’s dedication to its employees and their well-being.

The event witnessed the presence of Area Personnel Managers from all ECL operational areas, along with executives and staff from various locations and headquarters. ECL continues to uphold its responsibility towards its workforce, ensuring that employee welfare remains at the heart of its operations.
