The Delhi High Court has upheld an interim arbitration award of Rs 115 crore in favour of state-owned engineering company Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) against RattanIndia Power Ltd.
As per the filing made, it is informed that an interim award passed in favor of Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) for an amount of Rs 115 crores with interest @18% per annum w.e.f. 30 days from the date of the award, i.e., 27.07.2017, against M/s RattanIndia Power Ltd. has been upheld by the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi vide judgment dated 06.03.2025.

On March 6, 2025, a judgment was issued confirming the validity of an award that includes an annual interest rate of 18%, applicable from 30 days after the original award date of July 27, 2017. Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) experienced a remarkable 167% surge in order inflow compared to the previous year, totaling Rs 6,860 crore.
Additionally, the company's order book increased by 47% year-on-year (YoY) to reach Rs 1.6 lakh crore. The revenue from the power segment rose by 32% to Rs 5,588 crore, while revenue from the industrial segment grew by 33% to Rs 1,688.6 crore. Both segments saw a year-on-year expansion in their margins.
However, shares of Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd closed at Rs 196.70, declining by Rs 1.70, or 0.86%, on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
