Chairman CIL inaugurates ICOMS 2020 virtually
Singrauli: Mr. Pramod Agarwal, Chairman-Co-Managing Director of World's Largest Coal Producer Company Coal India Limited, inaugurated the two-day ' International Conference on Open Cast Mining Technology & Sustainability ′′ ICOMS ′′ 2020 in NCL on Friday.
In his Presidential speech during the program, Mr. Agarwal described the event of ′′ ICOMS ′′ 2020 ′′ very relevant to the coal industry in the current situation where the world's renowned mining professionals, technical experts, academics, scientists, researchers, and students of the country Contemplating and presenting research papers to give a new direction to coal sector in line with a dynamic economy.
On this occasion, Mr. Agarwal underlined the company's long-term development and commitment to production, productivity, and financial benefits as well as environmental balance and close society, academic, economic development, and their health and safety as a criterion for the company's long-term development.

NCL CMD Mr. Prabhat Kumar Sinha, present as a special guest on the occasion, said ′′ ICOMS ′′ open cast provides a platform to share modern global technologies, innovations, and research in coal mining which benefits the coal industry multi-dimensional. Mr. Sinha said the NCL will produce and dispatch 130 million tonnes of coal through eco-friendly mediums in the coal sector by 2023-24 to make the country self-sufficient. For these structures, Nearly 7000 crore will be spent on renewal and development. He said coal will continue to play a crucial role in the next several decades in light of the nation's growing energy needs. As well as NCL imports of coal in the near future will also play a remarkable role in reducing.
Chairman Coal India inaugurated the grand exhibition nearly 50 MNC companies, MSME and NCL-IIT are showcasing the latest technology and innovations related to the start-up mining sector affiliated with BHU Incubation Centre at the exhibition held on the occasion.
CMD NCL observed the poster exhibition, during this time an interesting poster exhibition on different topics based on mining has also been organized. CMD NCL Mr. Prabhat Kumar Sinha started it by observing the poster exhibition with the Board of Directors.
On this occasion, NCL Director (Technical / Operations) Dr. Anindya Sinha said that through this event we are studying new possibilities in the field of better and environmental methods of coal mining and clean energy. Dr. Sinha Expressed the company's commitment to coal production, security, ecosystem restoration, and overall development of the surrounding community, considering the environment.
85 research papers from the country and abroad will be presented: Scientists, academics, and technical experts from the country including the USA, Australia, Turkey, Korea, Iran are presenting about 85 research papers at this conference held on January 22 and 23.
