PSU Stock: BHEL secures order from DVC for Raghunathpur Thermal Power Project in West Bengal

Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has issued a Letter of Intent to Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) for the steam generator island package of the 2x660 MW Raghunathpur Thermal Power Station Phase-II project in Purulia, West Bengal.

Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has sent a letter of intent (LoI) to state-owned Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. for the steam generator island package of the 2x660 MW Raghunathpur Thermal Power Station phase-II project in Purulia, West Bengal.

The contract was awarded through international competitive bidding and was valued at around Rs 6,200 crore (excluding taxes and duties). "Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has received a Letter of Intent (LOI) from DVC for Steam Generator Island Pkg. of the 2x660 MW Raghunathpur Thermal Power Station Phase-II project," according to a stock exchange filing.

The scope of work includes the supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of steam generators and auxiliaries, electrostatic precipitators (ESP), flue gas desulphurization (FGD) systems, ash handling systems, and related electrical and control instrumentation (C&I) works.

Additionally, BHEL will undertake associated civil works. The execution timeline for the project is set at 48 months and 52 months for the respective units.

The company's shares are trading lower by 0.54% at Rs 198.64.
