MEIL received Rs 12,800 crore purchase order from NPCIL

New Delhi: Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL) has received a Rs 12,800 crore purchase order from Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) to build two nuclear reactors in Karnataka. This milestone marks our entry into the nuclear energy sector, shaping India's energy future.
It is said that this is the biggest ever order which have been placed by NPCIL. This contract and work collaboration will be a major boost for MEIL as the company is stepping into the nuclear nergy sector. NPCIL used Quality-cum-Cost-Based Selection (QCBS) method for awarding this project.

MEIL said, In a proud and defining moment, Megha Engineering & Infrastructure Ltd. (MEIL) has formally received the Purchase Order for a Rs 12,800 crore EPC contract from the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) to construct two 700 MWe nuclear reactors—Kaiga Units 5 & 6—in Karnataka.
The order was formally handed over at NPCIL’s Mumbai headquarters to Shri Ch. P. Subbaiah, Director, MEIL (Projects), and his team. It was not just a professional achievement but a moment filled with pride, recognition, and a deep sense of responsibility.
