World Space Week 2022 at Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, ISRO
Secretary DOS/Chairman ISRO, Shri S Somanath presided over the function of World Space Week 2022 at Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC)/ISRO, Thiruvananthapuram
The celebration of World Space Week 2022 at Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC)/ISRO, Thiruvananthapuram began in a grand manner with the Honourable Governor of Kerala ShriArif Mohammed Khan formally inaugurating it. Secretary DOS/Chairman ISRO, Shri S Somanath presided over the function.
In his inaugural address, the Honourable Governor recollected India's proud heritage, which had the tradition of worshipping knowledge. He complimented the efforts of ISRO centres in reaching out to students as part of World Space Week, to inculcate in them the spirit of inquiry, especially in the fields of science and technology. A bright future for India lies in the hands of the younger generation who has a passion for acquiring knowledge.
The function was enriched by the presence of school children from Government model tribal schools across the state who also conducted an artifact exhibition at the venue. In the well-attended function Dr. S Unnikrishnan Nair, Director VSSC, Dr. V Narayanan, Director, LPSC, Dr. D Sam Dayala Dev, Director IISU, and Shri C Manoj, Chief Controller, VSSC participated.
