New Delhi: Western Coalfields Limited is constantly striving to promote cleanliness. In this direction, many successful activities have been implemented by WCL, whose results are encouraging.

Taking cognizance of these effective efforts, the Ministry of Coal has declared WCL as 'Swachhata Pakhwada' for the year 2023'.

The award was presented to Shri Manoj Kumar, CMD, WCL by Shri Amrit Lal Meena, Secretary, Ministry of Coal, Govt. of India, at a special function held at Ministry of Coal, New Delhi on 06.09.2023.

On this occasion, Shri Kumar was accompanied by the Director (Technical & Personnel) of WCL Shri J.K. P. Dwivedi was also present. CMD Mr. Manoj Kumar congratulated all the personnel while giving credit for this achievement to Team WCL.

The award is given by the Ministry of Coal on the basis of the set criteria, which includes the initiative taken to increase awareness about the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in the public mind, etc.

It is worth mentioning that many activities were done throughout the year to increase awareness towards cleanliness and the use of eco-friendly materials through tree plantation, awareness camps, cleanliness campaigns, and special campaigns.
