New Delhi: On the first working day of the new year, dated 02.01.2022, CMD Mr Manoj Kumar addressed Team WCL through the program "Rubaru". In a program organized at the WCL headquarters, Mr Kumar wished all the employees of WCL for the new year and motivated them to achieve the targets of production, dispatch and OBR in the remaining period of the financial year 2022-23. Referring to the achievements made so far, he praised the enthusiasm and hard work of Team Wakoli.

He informed that in this financial year, WCL has achieved 38.36 million tonnes surpassing the fixed gross target of 38.16 million tonnes by December 2022, which is 4.15 million tonnes more than last year. WCL has dispatched 42.91 million tonnes of coal in the three quarters of this financial year, which is 95% of the target so far. Similarly, WCL has achieved 97% of the target so far by removing 212.64 million cubic meters of overburden.

Referring to the quality of coal, he said that active work has been done in this direction. he said acona and Mungoli open cast other than Penganga mine. Now surface miner has also been installed. Continuing this series, the next surface miner will start soon at the Pauni-II mine. Surface miners will be installed in three more projects shortly. He told that the crushing capacity in Wakoli has been increased to one and a half times of the prescribed capacity. Through these efforts, good quality coal will be available to the consumers.

From the perspective of adopting new technology in underground mining work, he said that during this financial year 'Chhatarpur-I ' of the Pathkheda area will be constructed. A continuous miner has been installed in the mine and soon continuous miner will be used in the 'Tawa' mine. In future, a plan has been prepared to install a total of 20 continuous miners in the underground mines of Waikoli.

He further mentioned the launch of the Integrated Command and Control Center for e-surveillance, truck and trolley-mounted fog cannons for dust suppression, sweeping machines and the use of CAAQMC for online air quality monitoring in the direction of environmental protection. He also mentioned about the dispatch of coal from the Bhatadi Mine of the Chandrapur area to the Chandrapur Thermal Power Plant through a pipe conveyor with a capacity of 06 thousand tonnes per day, various awards received by WCL etc. In his address, he also had a special emphasis on Mission Health.

He told that he will interact with Team Vaikoli through face-to-face every fortnight. On this occasion, 'Star Performer of Fortnite' will be awarded to personnel who have given their best to achieve the goal. He expressed confidence that WCL will achieve its annual production, dispatch and OBR targets.
