WCL celebrates Independence Day 2024 with fervour

Western Coalfields Limited celebrated “Independence Day” on 15th August, 2024 with great zeal and enthusiasm.

Chairman-cum-Managing Director Shri J.P. Dwivedi inspected the parade of WCL Security Guard and hoisted the National Flag Tricolour. Thereafter, he addressed Team WCL. In his address, he spoke in detail about the Company's production, productivity, environmental protection, safety in mining operations, CSR activities etc. He stressed upon the use of new technology and new equipment in the Company. He hoped that like last year, Western Coalfields Limited will achieve its production target this financial year as well. He called upon the employees to ensure their participation in the progress of the country through coal production.

After the address by CMD Shri Dwivedi, tree plantation was done in the Head Office premises. Director Technical (Operations / Planning & Projects) Shri A.K. participated in this program organized at WCL Head Office. Singh, Director (Finance) Shri Bikram Ghosh, CVO Shri Ajay Madhukar Mhetre, members of WCL Steering Committee, members of Welfare Board, representatives of labour organisations, General Managers of Headquarters and Heads of Departments were prominently present.

After that, CMD Shri J.P. Dwivedi, Directors and other dignitaries felicitated the employees and their children for their excellent work in the programme organised in the Cultural Bhawan for securing excellent marks in 10th, 12th and higher education and achieving special achievements. On this occasion, mines and regions were also felicitated for doing remarkable work. In the category of Best Region awards, Umred Region was awarded the first prize, Vani North Region was awarded the second prize and Vani Region was awarded the third prize.

Regional General Managers, Heads of Departments, officers and employees were present in large numbers in the programme. Patriotic songs were presented by artists in the programme.
