Various initiatives inaugurated in villages adopted by Rashtrapati Bhavan under Smart Gram Initiative

Various initiatives in villages in Haryana i.e. Dhaula, Alipur, Harchandpur and Rojka Meo adopted by Rashtrapati Bhavan under its Smart Gram Initiative, were inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Haryana, Shri Manohar Lal today (November 11, 2016). Some of the initiatives which were inaugurated include: upgraded infrastructure in the Udyog Kunj Alipur, Smart Gram Consortium Office, Smart Gram Training Centre, Gram Sachivalaya, Smart Gram Wellness Centre, Water ATM, Initiation of work of up-gradation of distribution network of electricity of DHBVN, Women’s Training by NIFTEM, Initiation of the work of construction of internal village road, Foundation Laying of building of Gramalaya, Distribution of energy efficient Chulhas and Sanitary Napkin Production Centre at Dhaula.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary to the President, Smt. Omita Paul thanked Chief Minister of Haryana for providing financial and administrative support to the SMART GRAM Initiative. She said that a smart village is a humane, hi-tech and happy village which ensures an enhanced quality of life that contributes to the harmony, happiness and well-being of all the villagers. A smart gram would have the required basic physical and social infrastructure with a layer of smart information and communication embedded in the infrastructure to improve governance and delivery of services, livelihood and economic opportunities. The focus of Rashtrapati Bhavan is on creating a sustainable and inclusive development model that can be easily replicated. This model is based on the convergence of resources and effort by the central government, state government, district administration, panchayati raj institutions, public sector, private sector and enlightened villagers.
 
On this occasion, the Chief Minister of Haryana expressed his happiness over the pace of work going on in the villages adopted by Rashtrapati Bhavan under Smart Gram initiative and assured all support from the State Government.
