WAPCOS in Zimbabwe: Upgradation of Deka Pipeline commissioned

New Delhi: The newly laid Deka Pipeline, stretching 42 km from the High Lift Pumping Station to reservoirs at Hwange, Zimbabwe, was officially commissioned yesterday by Hon'ble Minister of Energy & Power Development, Government of Zimbabwe. Representing the Government of India were Sh. Puneet R. Kundal, Additional Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, India, and Sh. Vijay Khanduja, Indian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, along with Sh. Sanjay Gupta, Project Manager WAPCOS.

WAPCOS is proud to serve as the Project Management Consultant for the Upgradation of Deka Pumping Station. This new pipeline provides a continuous and reliable water supply to Hwange Power Station and delivers drinkable water to local villages and the township, marking a significant community development. The outstanding work by WAPCOS has been highly acknowledged and appreciated by the Government of Zimbabwe

The project, financed at USD 48.1 Million by EXIM Bank of India under the Line of Credit, stands as a testament to the strong collaboration between India and Zimbabwe.
