Rishikesh: In a significant step towards transforming the landscape of sports development in India, THDC India Limited, a leading power generation Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), and REC Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for financial collaboration of Rs 4 crore to develop an Olympic-size pool at Koteshwar High-Performance Water Sports Academy, Uttarakhand. This significant collaboration underscores THDCIL’s commitment to promoting world-class sports infrastructure in India.

Vishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director, THDC India Limited, conveyed his heartfelt wishes on the signing of this groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with REC Limited.
Sh. Vishnoi added that “through our CSR activities we are equally focused on contribution to the overall socio- economic development of the nation. The establishment of an Olympic-size pool at the Koteshwar High- Performance Water Sports Academy is the example of our dedication to nurturing athletic talent and promoting excellence in water sports.” Shri Shallinder Singh, Director (Personnel), THDCIL, emphasized that the “This collaboration with REC is another step towards setting new benchmarks in Corporate Social Responsibility and community engagement.

Sh. Singh added that Power Sector PSUs have always worked collaboratively, contributing significantly to the overall socio-economic development of the country through their united efforts and commitment to nation-building.
The development of this state-of-the-art facility will not only strengthen the capabilities of the Koteshwar High-Performance Water Sports Academy but also position it as a hub for nurturing athletes in water sports. By creating such infrastructure, THDCIL aims to inspire future generations and foster a culture of sporting excellence in the region. Sh. Pradeep Fellows, Executive Director (CSR), REC and Sh. Amardeep, General Manager, THDCIL signed the MOU on the behalf of REC and THDCIL respectively.
