THDCIL Honored with Healthcare Innovation Award 2025 for Pioneering CSR Initiatives in Uttarakhand

Rishikesh, 01-03-2025: THDC India Limited (THDCIL), a leading Power Sector PSU, has been honoured with the Healthcare Innovation Award 2025 for its outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in the healthcare sector in Uttarakhand. The award was presented at the Uttarakhand Healthcare Innovation Summit and Awards 2025 in Dehradun, recognizing THDCIL’s commitment to improving healthcare access in remote hilly and project-affected regions through THDC SEWA.
The inaugural session was addressed by the Hon’ble Governor of Uttarakhand, Lt Gen Gurmit Singh, (Retd), where he underscored the state's commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure, promoting innovation, and ensuring quality, accessible healthcare for all its citizens.

Sh. R. K. Vishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director, THDCIL conveyed his heartfelt wishes on this achievement and said that THDCIL has always been proactive in undertaking various initiatives for overall Socio-economic development of the nation, with a strong focus in the state of Uttarakhand. Through THDC SEWA, the Corporation has been relentlessly working towards ensuring access to quality healthcare services in underserved areas.
Sh. Vishnoi added that at THDCIL our initiatives, including medical dispensaries, multi-specialty health camps, telemedicine centres, and infrastructure support, have significantly improved healthcare accessibility in the region. This recognition is a testament to THDCIL’s dedication to fostering social development through innovative healthcare interventions,” he said.
Sh. Shallinder Singh, Director (Personnel), THDCIL, emphasized the company’s continued efforts in enhancing healthcare infrastructure and services. CSR initiatives of THDCIL focus on community well-being, preventive healthcare, and medical assistance for marginalized populations. The success of our Allopathic and Homeopathic Dispensaries, Telemedicine Project, Cataract Surgeries, and Mobile Health Van Camps is a reflection of our commitment to the people of Uttarakhand.
Sh. Singh added that THDCIL will continue to support healthcare accessibility by strengthening partnerships with medical institutions and local authorities. From enhancing healthcare accessibility in remote hilly regions to strengthening education, environmental conservation, and community development, THDCIL has been at the forefront of initiatives that significantly uplift the quality of life for underserved populations.

In collaboration with reputed medical institutions such as AIIMS Rishikesh, Seema Dental College, and Rotary International, THDCIL has conducted over 200 medical camps, benefiting 34,287 individuals and restoring eyesight to 2,127 cataract patients. Additionally, THDCIL has provided critical healthcare equipment and infrastructure, including MRI units, ambulances, PRP machines, and gynecological chairs, as well as skill development programs for General and Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (GNM & ANM) to address the shortage of trained healthcare professionals.
