NEW DELHI- Shri Krishan Pal, Hon’ble Minister of State for Power & Heavy Industries, GoI, visited the Maithon Dam & Hydel Station project of DVC on 18.04.2022. He was received at the Kolkata Airport by Shri R.N.Singh, Chairman, DVC from where they flew to Maithon. 

The Minister was given a cordial welcome on arrival at Maithon & escorted to Chairman’s Camp House, where a Guard of Honour was presented by the local CISF Unit. 

He was accompanied by Hon’ble MP of Godda, Jharkhand, Shri Nishikant Dubey & Hon’ble MLA of Nirsa, Dhanbad, Smt Aparna Sengupta. They visited the Maithon Hydroelectric Power station (63.2MW) commissioned back in 1957 & were given a tour of the three generating Units by DVC Engineers. 

The delegates participated in a tree plantation program subsequent to which a meeting was held with the esteemed guests attended by Chairman, DVC along with Member (Finance), Shri Arup Sarkar, Executive Director (System), Shri S.K.Datta, Executive Director (HR), Shri Rakesh Ranjan and other senior officials of DVC. 

Shri Singh in his welcome address expressed gratitude for the assistance & support of the Ministry of Power, GoI, that have contributed in the steady progress of DVC enabling it to aggressively venture into Solar power generation. 

The Hon’ble Minister commended on the prolonged service rendered by DVC in meeting our nation’s demand of electricity while simultaneously bringing about a socio-economic up-liftment of the regional populace. 

He also congratulated the DVC employees for achieving the highest ever Hydel power generation in FY2021-22 & hoped that the organization will continue to prosper in the same vein.
