Shri Vineet Joshi assumed charge as the Secretary of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, at Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi. Before this appointment, he served as the Chief Secretary of Manipur.

He has held several prominent positions in the education sector, including Director-General of the National Testing Agency (NTA), Chairman of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Education, among others.

Joshi, a 1992-batch IAS officer of the Manipur cadre, has previously held several key positions in the education sector. He has held the positions of director-general of the National Testing Agency (NTA), chairman of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and additional secretary in the Ministry of Education, among others.
