Secretary, Ministry of Coal, Amrit Lal Meena reviews performance of Western Coalfields Limited
He suggested that the utilities should prepare to contribute more in meeting the nation's energy needs by using new technology.
New Delhi: On January 27 and 28, 2024, Shri Amrit Lal Meena (I.P.), Secretary, Ministry of Coal, Government of India, visited WCL. On the first day of his stay, he inspected the mines of the Pench area and had a detailed discussion with the Kshatriya management on the possibilities of the PSP project there. On the second day of his visit, he reviewed the performance of Western Coalfields Limited at WCL headquarters.
He suggested that the utilities should prepare to contribute more in meeting the nation's energy needs by using new technology. Also, explore other possibilities for profitability. Shri Meena wished the company's employees all the best to achieve their production targets in the remaining days of this financial year.

The meeting was attended by Chairman, Coal India Limited Shri P.M. Prasad, Director (Technical/Personnel) Shri J. P. Dwivedi, Director Technical (Planning/Project) Shri A. Of. Singh, Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Ajay Madhukar Mhetre, General Managers of all areas and Heads of Departments of the Headquarters were present. Before the review meeting, he met the members of the steering committee of WCL and discussed various issues.
