New Delhi: South Eastern Coalfields Ltd., National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) in a 104-hour operation rescued 11-year-old Rahul Kumar Sahu, a resident of Pihrid, who got stuck in an abandoned borewell in Chhattisgarh.
A rescue operation was launched soon after the boy fell into the borewell at Pihrid village in the Champa district of Chhattisgarh. A 60 ft pit parallel to the borewell was dug and a tunnel was built in the pit to reach out to the boy.
The team together developed a parallel incline after Rahul fell to a depth of about 60 feet from the borewell excavation.
