SECL Becomes The Frist Company to Produce Over 150 MT Coal

Bilaspur: South Eastern Coalfields (SECL) a Miniratna' Company, and one of eight fully owned subsidiaries of Coal India Limited. has crossed coal production of 150 Million Tonnes on 20th March 2019. With this new record, SECL has become the first company in India to cross the coal production figure of 150 Million Tonnes. SECL in its path to achieve the annual coal production target has been creating new records on day to day basis.
 
SECL has been achieving new benchmarks under the able leadership of its CMD, Shri A. P. Panda. In this endeavour, on 10th March, SECL created a record of highest single day coal production during Fy 2018-19 to the tune of 6,30,000 Tonnes. Two days later, SECL broke this record and achieved 6,37,000 Tonnes single day coal production. Under the directions of able leadership, the struggle continued relentlessly and on 18th March, SECL again broke the record to produce 6,66,000 Tonnes of coal in a single day. This was the highest single-day coal production in Coal India Limited. The wave did not stop here. On 25th March, 2019 SECL broke all previous records to produce 744654 Tonnes of Coal in a single day. This was the highest ever single day coal production since SECL’s inception.
 
SECL has fared well at area level too. On 12th March 2019, Dipka Area achieved the highest ever single day coal production of 1,45,421 Tonnes. On 19th March 2019, SECL’s Gevra Mine achieved a single day coal production of 2,05,795 Tonnes, which the highest single day coal production for any mine in Coal India Limited during the current Financial Year. Also, on 19th March 2019, Gevra despatched 1,68,087.31 Tonnes of Coal, which is the highest ever despatched by any mine in Coal India Limited.
 
During FY 2017-18, SECL has produced 144.7 MT of coal thus making it the largest coal producing subsidiary of Coal India Limited. SECL has crossed this coal production figure of 144.7 MT on 10th March 2019 itself. The hard work and commitment is at its highest in SECL and all efforts are being made to meet the annual production target. 
On 25th March 2019, SECL achieved 153.40 MT coal production. On the same day, the second largest coal producer Mahanadi Coalfields Limited is 12.85 MT behind at 140.55 MT.
