SBI opens new branch office at Chumoukedima

State Bank of India (SBI), the largest public sector bank in the country, has opened a new branch at 7th Mile, Chumoukedima, and the occasion was unveiled by Chief General Manager, Guwahati circle Sahadevan Radhakrishnan and Chumoukedjma Town Council (CTC) chairman Lhousito Khro.

While delivering a speech, CTC chairman Lhousito Khro recalled the past, when banking service was limited to the simple tasks of depositing cash and valuables.

However, in today’s world, banking has evolved to become an indispensable part of the daily lives. He said the range of services offered by the bank has expanded significantly, from digital banking to financial planning, which has become indispensable.

Earlier, the welcome address was delivered by DGM (B&O) Jorhat module Surabhi Bhattacharyya and later, a vote of thanks was delivered by RBO Dimapur regional manager Hubert AS Wungshim.

Lhousito further appealed to the employees of the bank to continue exerting the patience and commitment that their profession demands.

Addressing the gathering, DGM (B&O) Jorhat module Surabhi Bhattacharyya encouraged the staff to take that extra step to cater to the public with empathy and professionalism. He reminded them that every person who comes to open an account was contributing to their salary, and therefore it was their responsibility to provide them with the best possible service.

“Leadership in banking is not just about overseeing operations; it is about serving with integrity and dedication and therefore encouraging them to provide the services necessary and do so with a smile”, he said.
