SAIL, RSP Organises Awareness Program as a part of SAIL’s Water Conservation Month observance
“It is our responsibility to preserve water which is becoming scarce,” said Mr. P K Satapathy, ED (P&A), SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) while delivering his address as the Chief Guest at the Awareness Program on the occasion of Water Conservation Month observance on 26th September 2022. The function was organized by Water Management Department and Personnel Department and Town Department of RSP at Civic Centre to mark the occasion.
Mr. Birendra Kullu, GM In-charge (P&A), RSP was the Guest of Honour of the program while Dr. S. K. Md. Equeenuddin, Asst. Professor ,NIT, Rourkela was the Chief Speaker. Also present on the occasion were, Mr. P K Das, GM In-charge (Town Services), Mr. Dhirendra Mishra, GM Incharge (Personnel-Works), Mr. Debajit Rabha, GM I/c (Water Management Department) and many other Senior Officers and employees of the Plant along with their spouses, students and parents of RSP’s run schools were present on the occasion. The programme commenced with lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries.
Deliberating on the importance of water in our day to day life, ED (P&A) said that the presence of water is the indicator of the presence of life and that we are celebrating Water Conservation Month to underscore its importance for our sustenance. In his concluding remarks the ED(P&A) exhorted the gathering to create awareness on judicious use of water.
Dr. S.K.Md.Equeidin, in his address elaborated on the various issues facing the world as far as water shortage and wastage are concerned. He also underscored the need for displaying the right attitude and preventing wastage of water.
The dignitaries also presented prizes to the winners of the various events organized for the students to mark the occasion. The events included quiz, painting competition for students of RSP’s run schools.
At the outset, Mr. Debajit Rabha, delivered the welcome address and provided insights into the importance of water conservation. Mr. Birendra Kullu, GM In-charge (P&A), RSP proposed a vote of thanks. Ms. Sangeeta M Sindur, Manager (Personnel) coordinated the function.
