SAIL RSP covered 162 employees under its Cost Awareness drive in October

The main objective of this drive is to have Process Optimisation, Expenditure Control and Revenue Generation through untraditional sources, to boost the profit of RSP and help each individual to realise his or her role in achieving the desired results.

New Delhi: SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant under its Cost Awareness drive "Samvedikaran" has covered  162 employees including executives from 12 Departments in the month of October 2022. The Departments where the programmes were conducted included Pipe Plant, Steel Melting Shop – I & II, Calcining Plant – II, LDBP, Hot Strip Mill – I, Coke Ovens, Sintering Plants, Blast Furnace, Plate Mill, Special Plate Plant and New Plate Mill. 

The inputs on the cost sensitisation programme highlighted the current issues being faced by RSP like Sales Cost Profitability, hike in imported coal cost, and imposition of customs duty on steel products etc. The Cost Reduction Plan vis-a-vis the actual performance of the individual departments was also discussed during the deliberations with special reference to cost comparison and variance analysis with regard to ABP target, techno-economic parameters of the last three years and previous month's performance. The product profitability statement was also explained to the participants for a holistic understanding.

The sessions were conducted at various locations by Mr. P Vijayan, GM, Mr. R R Sarangi, DGM, Mr. K K Verma, DGM, Mr. N C Das, AGM, Mr. Biswajit Pal, Manager, Mr. Harish Agarwal, Manager and Ms. Susmeet Kaur, Assistant Manager of F&A Department. Each of these sessions were presided by the Department Heads.  The overall programme was conducted by Mr. S C Sahoo, DGM F&A).
