Shri S.K. Jha assumes charge as Director (Technical) MCL
Shri Sanjay Kumar Jha assumes charge as Director (Technical), at Mahanadi Coalfields Limited, bringing over 30 years of expertise in coal mining, strategic planning, and technical advancements.
Sambalpur, March 07, 2025: Shri Sanjay Kumar Jha, today assumed the charge of Director (Technical), Mahanadi Coalfields Limited.
With over 3-decade long career in the coal industry, Shri Jha brings extensive experience and expertise in mining operations, strategic planning, and technical advancements. Prior to this, Shri Jha held key leadership roles as Area General Manager, Lakhanpur Area (2022-24) and Area General Manager, Basundhara Area (2019-2022) in Mahanadi Coalfields Limited and has significantly contributed to the growth and development of the coal sector.
He has been conferred with ‘Best Area General Manager’ at Coal Minister’s Award in Mega project category for the year 2021-22 and ‘Best Area General Manager’ by Coal India Limited for the year 2022-23.
He has played an instrumental role in commencing mining operations of integrated Lilari-Belpahar-Lakhanpur project, commissioning of Ib Valley Washery, identification of land for the 10-megawatt ground mounted solar plant of MCL and facilitating the self-relocation of Khandsa village for the establishment of Coal Ammonium Nitrate plant.
