RINL possesses very high technical capability
Visakhapatnam: The Union Minister of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Minister of Steel, Sri Dharmendra Pradhan arrived to a warm welcome on his maiden visit to RINL-Visakhapatnam today. The Minister accompanied by the top management led by Sri PK Rath, CMD, Directors of RINL visited the Model Room, Blast Furnace-3, Steel Melt Shop-2, Wire Rod Mill etc and he was apprised of the latest technology incorporated in the plant, Expansion and Modernization of RINL.
Later, Sri Pradhan addressed the senior officers of the plant at Multi-Purpose Hall in Ukkunagaram. Speaking on the occasion, the Steel Minister said that RINL has very high technical capability and the employees’ potential has already been recognized by the Ministry of Steel. Regarding raw material security, Sri Pradhan said that RINL has been aspiring for captive iron ore mines to face the competition and to reduce cost of production. He said that the Ministry of Steel is sincerely pursuing with the Odisha Govt regarding operationalization of iron ore mines of Orissa Mineral Development Company (OMDC). The MOS is also trying to supply raw material at special price to RINL from OMDC and RINL would largely benefit from it, the Steel Minister stated amid thunderous applause from the audience. He said that RINL should go for Joint Ventures to face competition, wealth creation and provide more value and increase the economic activity in this region.
Sri Pradhan said that the states of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand and Chattisgarh are mineral rich and have great potential for development. The Minister observed that with increase in economic activity there will be more employment opportunities, generation of more revenues to local and union government.
Earlier, Sri PK Rath, CMD,RINL in his welcome address said that Steel Minister’s visit has given a great inspiration to entire RINL collective and explained about the expansion, modernization and completion of Kaniti Balancing Reservoir-2, Central Dispatch Yard and Twin Ladle Heating Furnace, which is considered as completion of 7.3 mtpa expansion of the plant.
Sri MVV Satyanarayana, Hon’ble MP, Visakhapatnam, Dr Satyavathi, Hon’ble MP, Anakapalli, Sri T Nagireddy, Hon’ble MLA, Gajuwaka, Dr Haribabu, EX MP etc graced the occasion.
Sri KC Das, Director (Personnel) RINL-VSP proposed vote of thanks.Sri KC Das, Director (Personnel), Sri VV Venugopal Rao, Director (Finance), Sri DK Mohanty, Director (Commercial), Sri KK Ghosh, Director (Projects), Sri AK Saxena, Director (Operations), Sri PJ Vijayakar, CVO, Executive Directors, Senior officers were present on the occasion.Later, the Steel Minister interacted with the representatives of unions, SC&ST,OBC associations etc.
