Railway PSU stock to gain focus, secures contract from South Western Railway worth Rs 156.4 crore
According to the recent regulatory filings with the stock exchanges, South Western Railway has designated Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) as the Lowest Bidder (L1) for a project worth Rs. 156.4 crores.
The project is set to be completed within 18 months. The shares of the Railway PSU are expected to gain significant focus.
The scope of the project includes Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) for the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of 2×25 KV Overhead Electrification (OHE) and Power Supply and Isolation (PSI) Systems, including TSSs, SPs, and SSPs, along with Electrical General Services, Engineering, and Telecommunication works between Rayadurga (Excl.) and Topavagada (Incl.).

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited has a market capitalization of Rs 77,479.4 crores. The company’s shares experienced a nearly 3 percent increase, reaching an intraday high of Rs 392.75 on the BSE, compared to the previous closing price of Rs 381.35.
Over the past year, the stock has yielded positive returns of approximately 43 percent, although it has seen around 11.4 percent in negative returns over the last month.
At the end of the trading session, the shares of the railway public sector undertaking (PSU) closed down by 3.42 percent at Rs 368.50, with a dividend yield of 0.57 percent.
