RAdm Shekhar Mital Awarded IIT Distinguished Alumnus Award
GOA: RAdm. Shekhar Mital (NM) awarded Distinguished Alumnus Award by IIT, Kharagpur during 63rd Convocation held at IIT, Kharagpur. The Award has been presented for the outstanding achievements & contribution made by Admiral Mital to Industry and Society at large. This is based on recommendations of the Senate & Board of Governors of IIT, Kharagpur. RAdm Mital has served in Navy with distinction for over 33 years and for over 3.5 years as CMD of Goa Shipyard Limited and is credited with impressive turnaround of the company.
Among the other awardees were Chief Editor of Indian Express Raj Kamal Jha,West Bengal Police Chief Surajit Kar Purkayastha, founder & CEO of Mapmygenome India Anuradha Acharya and others. Incidentally, during last year’s convocation Google CEO Sundar Pichai was one of the Distinguished Alumnus Awardees.
