Press conference held at NTPC Korba: Chief GM said NTPC Korba is powering India's development

Press conference was organized in NTPC Korba at Vikas Bhawan premises. On this occasion, Chief General Manager, of NTPC, Shri B. R. Expressed gratitude for the cooperation of the last 40 years, Rao thanked the Press Club.

NEW DELHI- Press conference was organized in NTPC Korba at Vikas Bhawan premises. On this occasion, Chief General Manager, of NTPC, Shri B. R. Expressed gratitude for the cooperation of the last 40 years, Rao thanked the Press Club. He said that NPTC Korba is on the way to generating power with efficiency. About 40 years ago, this unit, which started its journey with 200 MW, is now known for its 2600 MW power generation and excellent performance in Korba.

Journalists visited the plant premises:
The journalists of the Press Club were also given a tour of the plant premises. He was shown the safety centre, simulator building, various units in the plant premises etc. At the same time, he was informed about the safety standards and safety-related trainings implemented in the plant premises.
They were apprised about the operation of 200 MW and 500 MW units in the simulator.

Many records created by excellent performance were established:
Operational Highlights (Jan 2023):
1. Highest PLF (Plant Load Factor) in all NTPC projects – 96.55%
2. Highest Monthly Loading Factor in NTPC – 97.29%
3. Zero Oil Consumption – Unit 1,3,4,5, & 7 (Monthly)
4. Annual PLF 91.28%, (as on 31. Jan 2023), Highest in NTPC, 2nd in India)
5. Awarded with the prestigious Swarna Shakti Award for Outstanding Performance
Leading for Community Development:
Along with power generation, NTPC Korba is continuously working for environmental protection and community development. Recently, retail associate training and archery camp etc. were organized under Corporate Social Responsibility.

Answering the questions of the members of Korba Press Club in the presence of senior officers, Shri Rao gave all the important information and said that the Korba plant has made a distinct identity in the field of electricity by setting the record of maximum production.
In the program Shri B. R. Rao (Chief General Manager) as well as Shri Madhu S (General Manager – Operation & Maintenance), Shri Anoop Mishra (Chief General Manager – Projects), Shri Amber Kumar (General Manager – Ash Management), Shri Prabhat Ram (Head of HR), Shri P. K Nandi (Deputy General Manager - Environment Management), HR, CSR and employees of Operations Department were present.
