The Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, expressed his joy as the first Over Dimensional Cargo (ODC) and Over Weight Cargo (OWC) arrived for the Numaligarh Refinery expansion project in Assam.

NEW DELHI- The Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, expressed his joy as the first Over Dimensional Cargo (ODC) and Over Weight Cargo (OWC) arrived for the Numaligarh Refinery expansion project in Assam. The expansion project is a significant step towards enhancing India's refining capacity and meeting the growing demand for petroleum products in the country.

Responding to the tweet by Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, the Prime Minister tweeted;

“Commendable feat.”

The arrival of the ODC and OWC marks a crucial milestone in the progress of the Numaligarh Refinery expansion project, which is being executed by Engineers India Limited (EIL) as the engineering consultant. The ODC and OWC are essential components of the refinery's equipment, which are critical for its operations and performance.

Expressing his happiness on this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the efforts of EIL and other stakeholders involved in the project for their dedication and commitment. The Numaligarh Refinery expansion project is aimed at increasing the refinery's capacity from 3 to 9 million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA), and it is expected to cater to the rising demand for petroleum products in the Northeastern region of India. The project is being implemented with state-of-the-art technology and adhering to stringent safety and environmental norms.
