Petroleum Ministry and NITI Aayog Officials visit to Kochi Refinery

Kochi: A team of 23 officials from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and NITI Aayog are visiting Kochi Refinery as part of an Industry Immersion Programme during 14-16 June 2023. 

Being World Blood Donor Day, the visiting team took the pledge before the day's learning sessions. The Immersion programme at Kochi Refinery is the first one by BPCL, as part of the Mission Karmayogi, an initiative of the Government of India being championed by the Capacity Building Commission.

The team was taken through detailed sessions and also had a review with the Senior Leadership led by Mr Abhai Raj Singh Bhandari. The team also visited the various units of the Refinery, Eco-park and was given a fire and safety demo at the Fire Training Ground at the refinery. More sessions and site visits are planned as part of the immersion programme. 

Earlier, Under Secretaries of MoP&NG, Mr Shashi Shekhar Singh and P Somakumar administered the World Blood Donor Day pledge in Hindi and English respectively.

The immersion programme is being taken forward as a Learning & Development initiative of Kochi Refinery, in line with the objectives laid down by the Capacity Building Commission (CBC). 

The CBC assisted by KPMG, is driving the mission across oil PSUs, to enable Ministry officials to get an immersive experience and a detailed understanding of the Industry, its best practices, and upcoming technologies in the Oil & Gas Industry.
