Patna Metro Rail Project: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar inaugurated Excavation Work with Tunnel Boring Machine

NEW DELHI- On 7th April 2023, Bihar Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar inaugurated the excavation work for the Patna Metro Rail Project using a tunnel boring machine at Moin-ul-Haq Stadium. The Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Shri Tejashwi Yadav, was also present on the occasion.

During the inauguration, the officials of the Patna Metro Rail Project provided detailed information to the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister about the ongoing construction work. They also screened a short film highlighting the construction work of the Patna Metro.

The Patna Metro Rail Project is an ambitious project aimed at providing a modern and sustainable mass rapid transit system for the city of Patna. The project is being implemented by the Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (BUIDCO) in collaboration with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

The project is expected to have two corridors - the East-West Corridor (Danapur to Patna Railway Station) and the North-South Corridor (Patna Junction to ISBT). The total length of both the corridors will be around 30 kilometers, and they will have a combined total of 30 stations.
