In a significant achievement, NTPC Talcher Thermal Power Project has been awarded the prestigious "Golden Peacock Award in the Power Generation category for Excellence in Occupational Health & Safety". Shri Goutam Deb, Executive Director of Talcher Thermal, received the award at the "IOD’s 25th International Conference on Environment Management and Climate Change”, by the Chairman of the Institute of Director's Retd. Lt-Gen. Surinder Nath in the August presence of Former Chief Justice of India Sh. Uday U. Lalit, which was held on June 27 – 28, 2024 in Bengaluru. During the award ceremony, Shri Sanjay Kumar Gupta (AGM Safety TTPP) and Shri Mayukh S. Biswas (DGM ME) were also present.

"Their participation is vital to our safety strategy and the safe execution of the project with zero incidents," the management said.
This award to NTPC TTPP is expected to further motivate the entire team of Talcher Thermal, strengthening their belief that with sustained efforts and strong leadership, the “Zero Incident” target can be achieved.
