NTPC Mining Achieves 23% YoY Growth in Coal Production, Ensures Fuel Security for Power Stations
New Delhi, 1st January 2025: NTPC Mining has reported an exceptional performance for the third quarter of FY 2024-25, with a significant 23% year-on-year growth in coal production, amounting to 30.88 Million Metric Tonnes (MMT). Additionally, the company dispatched 30.55 MMT of coal to NTPC’s power stations, marking a growth of around 19% compared to the previous financial year.
NTPC Coal Mining continues to exceed its production targets, solidifying its role as a critical player in the captive coal mining sector. Over the years, NTPC Mining has consistently worked towards ensuring fuel security for the company’s thermal power stations across the country. To date, the mining division has produced over 134.87 MMT of coal and dispatched more than 132.98 MMT from its five operational captive coal mines—Pakri Barwadih, Kerandari, and Chatti Bariatu in Jharkhand, Dulanga in Odisha, and Talaipalli in Chhattisgarh.
