NTPC Bongaigaon provides hope for reelers and weavers of Bodoland Silk Park, Kokrajhar
This project made at an estimated cost of approximately Rs. 50 lakhs is a part of NTPC Bongaigaon’s CSR initiative that demonstrates the company’s dedication to sustainable development and social responsibility.
Bongaigaon: In a significant step towards community development, Shri Sudip Nag, Regional Executive Director (ER-I and ER-II), NTPC laid the foundation stone for a new residential dormitory for reelers and weavers at Bodoland Silk Park, Department of Sericulture, Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) at Kokrajhar.
This project made at an estimated cost of approximately Rs. 50 lakhs is a part of NTPC Bongaigaon’s CSR initiative that demonstrates the company’s dedication to sustainable development and social responsibility.
During his maiden visit to NTPC Bongaigaon recently, Shri Sudip Nag, along with Shri Akhilesh Singh, Business Unit Head, NTPC Bongaigaon, Shri Onkar Nath, Head of HR, NTPC Bongaigaon and NTPC Bongaigaon officials toured the Bodoland Silk Park in presence Shri A.K. Chakrabarty, Director of Sericulture and representatives from BTC.

At the foundation stone laying ceremony, Shri Sudip Nag expressed his pride and gratitude for being part of this mission in partnership with the Department of Sericulture. He emphasized NTPC’s commitment to societal well-being beyond its core business. “This dormitory project is part of our goal to support approximately 10,000 reelers and weavers in the BTC region,” said Shri Nag, thanking the Department of Sericulture for this collaborative effort.
