NTPC Hospital, Bongaigaon celebrates World Blood Donor Day

New Delhi: A Blood Donation camp was organised in hospital premises with joint efforts of NTPC Hospital, CISF and Civil Hospital Kokrajhar on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day.

The blood camp was inaugurated by Shri Karunakar Das, CGM, NTPC Bongaigaon in the presence of Shri Saurav Kumar, DC, 129 BN CRPF, Kokrajhar, Shri M S Kandari, AC (Fire), CISF and Ms Kirti Yadav, AC (Security) in presence of senior NTPC officials. Shri S K Jha, GM (FM), Shri Induri S Reddy, GM (Maintenance) along with representatives of the union and association were present.

The camp turned out to be a huge success with NTPC employees, CISF and CRPF personnel pouring in for voluntary blood donation. The donors were felicitated and motivated by the hospital officials. More than 50 units of blood were collected. Later,

Dr Lijo Paul, Surgeon, at NTPC hospital, briefed the NTPC contract workers over the "basics of Blood donation" and busted many myths and hesitation of common people over the same.

Finally, Dr. Ela Chakraborty, CMO, of NTPC Hospital, led everyone in Pledge, committing themselves for Blood donation to save lives in future.
