NTPC Bongaigaon celebrated its 49th Raising Day with enthusiasm at its administrative building premises. Shri Karunakar Das, CGM, NTPC, unfurled the NTPC flag, and a cake cutting ceremony and balloon release took place. The event was attended by various officials and employees, including Shri K.C.Muraleedharan, GM (O&M), Shri Sanjay Pande, GM(FGD), Shri Induri S Reddy, GM (Maintenance), Shri Asutosh Biswas, GM (Operation), Shri G.M. Thangzom, Commandant, CISF, Shri M.S.Kandari, Asst. Commandant, CISF, and representatives from different departments, unions, associations, and the Bardwi Sikhla Ladies Club.

Shri Karunakar Das highlighted NTPC's impressive growth and legacy, with a current installed capacity of 73,874 MW, including power generated through joint ventures and subsidiaries. NTPC has a diversified energy portfolio, achieving a high-power generation of 5026.88 MU and a Plant Load Factor (PLF) of 76.51% in FY 22-23, surpassing the previous year's generation. The station also recorded the highest monthly generation in April’22, demonstrating its ability to meet peak demand and ensure grid reliability.

The awardees included Shri Gnyanankur Sonowal, Sr. Manager (EMD), Shri Saurav Kumar, Sr. Manager (HR), Shri Manish Mishra, Deputy Manager (Operations), Shri Pratyay Amrita, Dy. Manager (Operations), and Shri Shyamal Banerjee, Asst. Manager (Chemistry). In addition, Shri Joy Gopal Barman, a Technician (EMD), was honoured as the Employee of the Year for his outstanding commitment to the station.

As the power sector in India enters a new phase of growth and transformation, NTPC is fully prepared to seize the significant opportunities presented. The company has announced its Energy Compact Goals, demonstrating its commitment to installing 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032, further solidifying its dedication to sustainable and eco-friendly energy production.
