NEW DELHI- NTPC Bongaigaon has been awarded as the best-performing unit in the IPP category (Coal) below 250 MW and for best operational excellence IPP (Coal) -Best power generator of the year (Public Sector) in the recently held CEE (Council of Enviro Excellence) National Thermal Power Plant Awards 2023.

The award ceremony was organized through virtual mode in Mumbai on 13th -14th March, 2023. NTPC Bongaigaon was recognized for their outstanding achievements in exceptional unit performance, efficiency, and reliability and for their performance in the year 2022.

The awards received by the station were handed over to Business Unit Head of NTPC Bongaigaon, Shri Karunakar Das by Shri Ekonthung Ngullie, AGM (EMG,Ash Utilization and O&M/Civil) and officials of EMG Deptt .

NTPC Bongaigaon is a thermal power plant located in Salakati in the Indian state of Assam. It is a part of the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) and has a total installed capacity of 750 MW. The power plant uses both coal and natural gas as fuel sources and has been designed to meet the strict environmental norms set by the government.
