NLCIL Organizes Mass Cleaning Programme as a Part of SWACHHATA HI SEVA 2024
The Swachhata Hi Seva campaign is being organised by NLCIL at Neyveli an all its subsidiary projects, from 15.09.2024 to 02.10.2024 under the Swachhata Mission envisioned by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

New Delhi: As part of this, today, on 30.09.2024, NLCIL organised a mass cleaning programme at Neyveli. The event was flagged off by Dr. Suresh Chandra Suman, Director (Mines) and Director (P&P AC), Shri. Samir Swarup, Director (HR), Shri. Venkatachalam M, Director (Power), and Thiru. Appakannu Govindarajan, IPoS, Chief Vigilance Officer, NLCIL at 7 AM at Anna Thidal, Block-17, Neyveli Township.
Director/ Mines & Director/ P&P (AC) while addressing the gathering, highlighted contribution of Mahatma Gandhi towards cleanliness and its importance as equal as independence, emphasising the importance of observation of Swachhata Hi Seva’ as a tribute to the Mahatma on his Jayanti.

Sequel to the above mass cleaning activities, executives, workmen and Indcoserve & contract workers carried out cleaning activities across all Mines & Thermal units and offices in Neyveli, with more than 6,000 participants. Pamphlets were distributed to raise awareness about the segregation and disposal of biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste, as well as the ban on single-use plastic.
The programme provided a platform for community participation for providing the necessary impetus on the Swachh Bharat Mission and to disseminate the importance of cleanliness in our daily lives.
