NLCIL Bags Prestigious Industry Excellence Award
Chennai: NLCIL has been once again bestowed with Industrial Excellence Award 2017 for its best performance and excellence in engineering operation under category ‘A’ ie., the organization having the turnover of Rs 5000 Crore and above.
The award was presented in the 32nd Indian Engineering Congress 2017 held at Hotel Le Royal Meridian, Chennai on 21th December 2017, organized by Institution of Engineers (India), and Tamilnadu State Centre. The award was presented in the inaugural session by Shri. M.C Sampath, Hon’ble Minister of Industries, Steel Control and Special initiatives, Government of Tamilnadu. Shri P. Selvakumar, Director / Planning & Projects and Shri. B. Selvan, DGM /Management Services received the award on behalf of NLCIL.
The IEI Industry Excellence Award has been instituted to recognize industry leaders for their innovation, excellence in engineering operation and services and their capacity to sustain excellence in a competitive manner. The benchmarks created by the industry in India have included productivity, quality, safety and performance assurance which would give India the rightful place in the great markets.
Realizing that such industries can provide inspiration to a large number of other industries in the country, it has been once conducted appropriate by IEI council to launch the IEI industry Excellence Award in the year 2008.
Since its inception in 2008, industries like SAIL, Indian Oil Corporation, Tata Motors Ltd., Kirloskar Brothers Ltd., Larsen & Toubro Ltd., Bharat Electronics Ltd., CESC Ltd., Neyveli Lignite Corporation Ltd., (NLCIL), Bharath Heavy Electricals Ltd had been the rightful winners of the above Award further the Certificate of Appreciation / certificate.
