NLC India Limited observed Vigilance Awareness Week
In line with the directions of the Central Vigilance Commission, NLCIL is observing Vigilance Awareness Week 2022 from 31.10.2022 to 06.11.2022 on the theme “Corruption-free India for a developed Nation”.

New Delhi: Quoting the poem of famous Tamil poetess Avvaiyar, “When the bund of a paddy field rises, the king and citizen will prosper”, Prof. RM Kathiresan, the Vice Chancellor of Annamalai University, Chidambaram said that,” like the holes and recess in the bund which stop the plant growth, corruption stop the growth of a Nation,” while inaugurating the Vigilance Awareness Week 2022 on 31.10.2022 at Yegneswaran Auditorium, Learning & Development Centre, Neyveli, observed by NLC India Limited.
In line with the directions of the Central Vigilance Commission, NLCIL is observing Vigilance Awareness Week 2022 from 31.10.2022 to 06.11.2022 on the theme “Corruption-free India for a developed Nation”.
Prof.R M Kathiresan, Vice-Chancellor, Annamalai University, Chidambaram participated as the Chief Guest of the Inaugural function. Shri.Shaji John, Director/Power, Shri. K Mohan Reddy, Director/Planning & Projects, Shri. L Chandrasekar, IFS, Chief Vigilance Officer and senior officials of NLCIL graced the occasion. Shri. Ashok Dattatraya Keote, Chief General Manager/Vigilance delivered the Welcome Address.
As a mark of Inauguration, a Kuthuvilakku was lit up by the Chief Guest, Functional Directors and CVO. The Integrity Pledge in Tamil, Hindi and English respectively were administered by Shri. L Chandrasekar, IFS, CVO, NLCIL, ShriShaji John, Director/Power and Shri. K Mohan Reddy, Director/Planning & Projects of NLCIL.Messages on the occasion of Vigilance Awareness Week 2022 from Hon’ble President, Hon’ble Vice-President, Hon’ble Prime Minister and Central Vigilance Commissioner and Vigilance Commissioners of India were read.
CVO/NLCIL released a handout containing the Vigilance Awareness Week 2022 message in trilingual to the dignitaries on the dias and the participants. As part of the celebration, new initiatives like ‘Digitalization of Land Management portal’ was launched by the Chief Guest, ‘Mines Vehicle Tracking System Mobile Application’ was launched by Director/Power/NLCIL and ‘Project Affected PersonsData Management System’ was launched by Director/Planning and Projects/NLCIL respectively.
In his over view on Vigilance Awareness Week 2022, CVO had detailed the various activities and initiatives that are being conducted during Vigilance Awareness Week and also about Lecture and Seminars being arranged. He also emphasized on the precursor activities of VAW 2022 carried out at NLCIL under 6 topics from 16.08.2022 to 15.11.2022.
He highlighted on the overwhelming response to the short film competition wherein 30 Nos. of short films have been received and about the State wide Quiz competitions. Also, meetings with vendors, customers and contractors were arranged.
To mark the occasion, the Chief Guest released a mobile stand and a mouse pad customized with the theme of Vigilance Awareness Week 2022.
After the program, the Chief Guest, Functional Directors and CVO of NLCIL flagged off the Integrity Chariot and inaugurated the Integrity wall at Main Bazar, Neyveli Township, and took integrity pledge by signing on the wall. The employees and general public are taking integrity pledge by signing on this wall.
