Best CEO Corporate Management Innovative Leadership Excellence Award” Conferred to Shri. M. Prasanna Kumar, CMD, NLC India Limited
Shri. M. Prasanna Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director, NLC India Limited is presented the Best CEO Corporate Management Innovative Leadership Excellence Award 2023 – 24 on the occasion of the 24th Annual Geominetech International Symposium held at Bhubaneswar on 11th & 12th July 2024.
Shri. M. Prasanna Kumar, a Gold Medalist in Mechanical Engineering and MBA in four discipline has created a positive outlook about the company in the industry through various initiatives. Under his leadership the company have achieved breakthroughs in Land acquisition & sustainability initiatives at Mines. As a first of its kind initiative, NLCIL is establishing a 50 MW Solar PV Power Project at the mined-out land in Neyveli. This project is aimed at meeting the mine energy requirement through green renewable energy power.
During the FY 2023-24, the company has achieved an ever-highest coal and lignite production of 36 MT. The company bagged 13 five star ratings for their mines under the rating scheme of Ministry of Coal. The company has also won North Dadu (Western Part) Mine and Machchakata (Revised) Mine in the commercial coal block auctions conducted by Ministry of Coal. The company aims to reach 100 MTPA of mining capacity by 2030 from the current 50 MTPA level.

Prasanna Kumar, the company is marching with confidence in achieving the set targets. Recognizing the achievements, he was awarded the Best CEO Corporate Management Innovative Leadership Excellence Award at a ceremony organized at Bhubaneswar on 11th July 2024. The event was well attended by various top brass of coal companies.
