NCL launches an innovative health-centric CSR Initiative
Under the guidance of the Ministry of Coal, Singrauli based Coal India arm Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) has rolled out ‘CHARAK’- “Community Health: A Responsive Action for Koylanchal”, an innovative health-centric CSR Initiative on Sunday (15th December, 2024). This project is aimed at providing free treatment for the patients suffering from identified Life-Threatening diseases belonging to Economic Weaker Sections of Singrauli region.
Under ‘CHARAK’, NCL will provide free treatment of identified life-threatening diseases at its dedicated hospital (NSC) or at specialised empanelled hospitals across the country. Residents of Singrauli and Sonbhadra districts having annual family income below Rs. 8 Lakhs from all sources will be eligible for benefit under this scheme.

On this occasion, CMD NCL, Shri B. Sairam while dedicating the scheme, emphasised the objectives of the scheme and how it will facilitate healthcare for EWS community of the region. He also underscored the significance of ‘CHARAK’ scheme in the peripheral areas of NCL having geographical challenges.

'CHARAK,’ as a comprehensive CSR initiative, serves as a beacon of hope for the peripheral people who are unable to afford medical care for life-threatening diseases. Through free specialised treatment, NCL strives to ensure access to quality healthcare while easing the financial and emotional burden on affected families.
